BIOGRAPHY

On leaving school, Brian joined the Royal Air Force as a Gunner in the Royal Air Force Regiment. On completion of the Basic Gunner Course he was posted to RAF Laarbuch in Germany as part of the Harrier Force. He also completed overseas tours at RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus and returned to Germany at RAF Bruggen.

He has served on operations in Bahrain, Kuwait, Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan and was the Garrison Sergeant Major in Kandahar, Afghanistan in 2011.

His training tours include Force Protection Flights in Germany and the UK, RAF Ceremonial School, Recruit Training Squadron and Initial Force Protection Training at RAF Halton and Initial Officer Training at RAF Cranwell.

The highlight of his career was serving as the Squadron Warrant Officer on the Queen’s Colour Squadron.

Brian left the Royal Air Force in March 2020 after serving 38 years and started employment with Lincoln College as a Lecturer with the ASI Military & Defence.

He lectures in General Service Knowledge, Teambuilding, Leadership, interview skills, STEM and co-ordinates numerous enrichment trips and visits to the RAF, Defence and Aviation Sector.

He maintains his links with the Crown and is a member of The King’s Bodyguard, The Yeoman of the Guard.
