Women in Property brought together a group of like-minded individuals for an exclusive site visit to our highly anticipated Air and Space Institute yesterday.

This remarkable event showcased the expertise of our esteemed speakers - including Nick Pettit, GM QGM, Director of Estates, and Jasmine Craft, Project Manager from the Lincoln College Group. Additionally, Tim Hubner, Project Manager at G F Tomlinson, spoke to the group alongside William Silby from Stem Architects Ltd and Mark Lusher from Curtins.

During the enlightening talk, our speakers delved into the intricacies and challenges inherent in this groundbreaking project. They emphasised the indispensable collaboration and diverse range of expertise required to bring this visionary initiative to life. The developmental phases of the build have been an incredible journey, encompassing everything from sustainability choices to Newark architectural typology, aviation influences and infrastructure challenges. With a coordinated effort the various teams have moved the project on leaps and bounds. This thought-provoking discussion highlighted the project's innovation.

Jasmine Craft, Project Manager at Lincoln College Group, said: "The ASI project addresses the shortage of skilled professionals in the aviation and space industries, which have struggled to attract, educate, and retain qualified individuals necessary for the anticipated growth in these sectors.

"Situated strategically at the Newark Gateway, this innovation hub has been meticulously designed to not only support the long-term expansion of the aviation and space industries, but also to provide enhanced educational opportunities for the residents of Newark. By attracting new businesses and students to the town, this project will invigorate and revitalise the vitality of Newark as a whole."

Nick Petit, Director of Estates at the Lincoln College Group, said: "Amongst construction challenges the various teams have adapted tremendously. After navigating through significant changes throughout the different phases of the project, we are now on the verge of witnessing the realisation of our vision, with the completion of the build just within reach."

Our new aviation hub is poised to be an epicentre of learning for students, making it accessible in the East Midlands region. With a range of cutting-edge courses and opportunities, we are committed to providing a dynamic educational experience that prepares students for a prosperous future in the aerospace industry.
