The UK’s first International Air & Space Training Institute (IASTI) Newark partners with a world leader in Remotely Piloted Aircraft System training and operations.

IASTI Newark and Eagle Eye Innovations (EEI) are to collaborate in developing study programmes for the next generation of aviation professionals.

The IASTI enables students to learn from aviation industry experts and to get hands-on experience as they develop the skills needed to become pilots, engineers or flight dispatchers, leading to Level 3 Diplomas in Aviation Operations or Aircraft Maintenance. The initiative sees bespoke programmes co-designed by the best in the aviation and wider aerospace sector, to provide a sustainable talent pipeline.

A planning application, which will see a world class premises for IASTI built in the Centre of Newark by 2023, has just been submitted to the district council.

Until then students are based at the interim IASTI facility at the Newark College campus, where classrooms and workshops have been developed to include industry standard equipment, including a flight simulator, engines and aircraft cabin modules.
