The Air and Space Institute (ASI) staff and students will skydive as part of a charity fundraiser - the team will make the jump in early July to raise money for the Children's Bereavement Centre (CBC).

The CBC is an important organisation - providing support for children and young people who have experienced the loss of a loved one - the work they do is valuable. The ASI team are delighted to support the cause.

The Lincoln College Group has an ongoing relationship with the charity. Our therapy dog Freddie visits for family sessions, and students and staff at the Newark campus regularly get involved in local events and hold fundraisers.

Head of Newark Campuses, Penny Taylor, said: "I am delighted to be working with the team to fundraise for a meaningful charity. At Newark College, we encourage students to contribute to the local community where they can push their boundaries – I certainly am with a skydive!

“Giving back can be so powerful in building resilience. It is great that we are finding new ways to make an impact.”

Rachael Wilson, Fundraising Manager at the Children's Bereavement Centre, said: "Seeing young people enthused about fundraising is terrific - their willingness to get involved is what helps us sustain and grow the charity and continue to offer families the vital bereavement support and guidance they need."

First-year Pilot ASI student Eve, said: “I am counting down the days until we do our skydive. Since starting my course, I have had countless opportunities to try new things. It is great that we can incorporate aviation into our fundraiser and even better that I can share the experience with my classmates.”

We are dedicated to contributing to the local community and believe that the CBC is impactful; their specialists help children improve their self-esteem, feelings and behaviours as well as their mental health. It is important to support young people not just in their educational journey.

The team are excited to contribute in a bold and fun way. We are willing to do whatever it takes to make a difference. To collect donations for the Children's Bereavement Centre, the Air and Space Institute staff and students have set up a JustGiving page.

Support the team as they reach for the skies and make a difference! We are truly grateful for any donations - you can make donations here.
