Develop skills for you career
Students on our Pilot Pathway will start by studying a common curriculum designed to familiarise themselves with the aviation industry as a whole.
Employers and industry experts have told us that they need staff that understand and appreciate the knowledge skills and competencies of a range of job roles across aviation. This level of broad understanding will make our graduates more effective in their careers when they progress.
Your Options
Level 2 Aviation
This is an excellent starting point for students who didn't quite get the GCSE grades for the Level 3 Pilot & Aviation Operations course. Build a good foundation of knowledge on this course whilst retaking your GCSE Maths and/or English. Once GCSE grades are secured, Level 2 students can progress to Level 3 programmes.
Level 3 Aspiring Pilot Pathway
This Level 3 Aviation Operations qualification provides a strong introduction to the industry and is a valuable steppingstone for students who aspire to become pilots. It does not guarantee a career as a pilot, but it offers relevant knowledge, practical experience and insight into the many opportunities available within aviation.
The Aspiring Pilot Pathway is ideal for students who are passionate about aviation and want to take their first step into the industry. While it is not pilot training and does not guarantee a pilot career, it gives students valuable exposure, practical experience and a clearer understanding of the routes available to them.
Enrichment
Year 1: Industry Orientation: Aviation related site visits and guest speakers
Year 2: Pilot Orientation: Advanced enrichment with practical flying lessons in a light aircraft with Quiet Tiger Aviation and sim time in our state-of-the-art flight simulators.
Grace Hickson “I really enjoyed my time at ASI. Throughout my application process to Rolls Royce I had guidance from my tutors, they helped me make a presentation and even lent me a HP turbine blade for the interview.”
