The beautiful Newark-on-Trent
Newark-on-Trent has a lovely cobbled market place overlooked by the elegant Georgian Town Hall housing the Town Treasures and Art Gallery.
Walking around the town you will notice a mixture of beautiful buildings of both architectural and historical importance. The imposing ruins of the 12th century Castle, the beautiful Parish Church, ornate Gilstrap Centre and nearby Air Museum all add to the town’s attraction to visitors from both the UK and abroad.
Newark is positioned on the River Trent, which means you can enjoy a riverside walk or a relaxing river trip. The award-winning Riverside Park has played host to the Newark Festival, Newark on Water festival, Food Festival and the circus and fair when they come to town. Amble along the town lock and sensory garden, with its seated areas, piped classical music, and a water feature which has been designed for people with visual impairments.

Due to it’s historic nature, central location and proximity to major cities in the East Midlands, Newark is incredibly easy to both commute to, and visit.
Planes
East Midlands Airport is just an hour’s drive away, down the A46. Or you can catch the Skylink train from Nottingham Station.
Trains
It has good links with the UK transport network via the East Coast Main line high speed train services to London and the North.
Automobiles
Newark is situated where the A1, A46 and A17 road networks meet, giving it great access to road networks spreading out across the country.
