Why Choose ASI?

For the first time education and training programmes have been co-designed by the Air & Space industry using the job roles as the blueprint for ASI qualifications.

Get hands on in real learning environments...

In April 2024, the Air and Space Institute officially opened its doors to students. The £15.4m state-of-the-art facility is now home to all our ASI pathways.

The facility, situated in the heart of Newark adjacent to the Newark and Sherwood District Council offices, stands as a testament to collaboration and vision. The Towns Fund project, born from a desire to enhance educational and employment prospects, has transformed Newark into a hub of innovation and aspiration.

State of the art facilities

ASI boasts cutting-edge infrastructure designed to simulate real-world scenarios. Our impressive Airbus A320 Neo, parked in the ASI hangar, provides excellent hands-on training across many of our pathways. This decommissioned aircraft was recently flying across Europe for Air France.

Travel & Tourism students can practise emergency procedures and customer service for cabin crew roles, Engineering students apply their theoretical knowledge through aircraft maintenance tasks, while Pilot students can use the flight deck area to simulate a real flight- preparing them for their future careers.

From dedicated workshops and state-of-the-art ALSIM flight simulators to VR headsets, Pennant hydraulic system trainers, and robotic arms, every aspect of the facility is designed to equip students with practical skills and industry-relevant knowledge.

Virtual learning

With our state-of-the-art VR setup, two real flight simulators and incredible resource library, you’ll have everything you need to complete your studies.

It has good links with the UK transport network via the East Coast Main line high speed train services to London and the North.

Automobiles

Newark is situated where the A1, A46 and A17 road networks meet, giving it great access to road networks spreading out across the country.
