BIOGRAPHY

Peter began his military journey in the Royal Air Force (RAF) in 2001. Over 22 years, he served at various Stations within the UK and overseas, including Cottesmore, St Mawgan, and Benson. His career took him to Akrotiri in Cyprus, Halton, Odiham, and Coningsby. He concluded his service at RAF Brize Norton.

His deployments spanned multiple regions. Peter operated in Iraq and Afghanistan, and he completed seven tours in the Falkland Islands. Each deployment tested his skills and resilience. 

During his tenure as a drill instructor at Basic Recruit Training, Peter distinguished himself through dedication, leadership and was awarded station commanders and Officer Commanding 22 group commendation, as well as being on the Queens birthday honours list. His role in Operation Olympic was crucial. He led a team of 20, tirelessly feeding over 5,000 personnel around the clock during the 2012 Olympic Games. His military teaching career carried on with delivering the Level 3 training and Education/ Assessing Vocational Related Achievements to various ranks of all 3 services, including Civil Servants.

Peter had the honour of marching before HM the Queen during the presentation of new Colours to the Royal Air Force and the Royal Air Force Regiment in 2018. This moment filled him with immense pride. Additionally, he played a key role in instructing the Standard parties for RAF Odiham during the RAF 100 celebrations in London.  

In 2023, Peter transitioned from the RAF to work at the Defence Academy for the United Kingdom in Shrivenham, Wiltshire. He became the Internal Quality Assurer for the Defence Trainer and Supervisor courses, (Level 3 training and Education/ Assessing Vocational Related Achievements). Before starting with ASI in early 2025. 

Peter continues to keep his links with the Royal Air Force by continuing to serve as member of The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight PR team, covering several airshows throughout the season, a role he has had since 2018.
