The ASI Aeronautical Engineering team are celebrating an academic milestone after receiving outstanding commendations from Pearson’s External Examiners for its HNC Aeronautical Engineering programme in its inaugural year.
Following outstanding feedback for Lincoln College University Centre’s Higher National provision for Electronics and Mechanical Engineering programmes last month - which was praised as ‘best practice’ by Pearson’s External Examiner – the HNC Aeronautical Engineering course has now also received high praise.
The examiner highlighted the exceptional quality of student work, noting the particularly high standard of distinction-level submissions and the innovative design projects where students are developing drones as part of the Design unit.
The feedback from the review underscores ASI’s commitment to delivering high-quality, industry-relevant education. Key successes highlighted include:
100% of student work sampled
No actions required
Commendations for student’s work clarity, professionalism, and attention to detail
Holistic assignments encouraging individualised, real-world evidence
Strong student feedback praising teaching quality and lecturer support
“I’m really pleased for the students, and it is great that we have recruited such high-calibre students in this first academic year,” said HNC Aeronautical Engineering Course Coordinator and Lecturer, Laurence Roberts.
“To receive such affirming feedback from two separate Pearson Examiners regarding our HNC provision shows that our approach to hands-on, innovative engineering education is working. The success of our students reflects the dedication of our teaching staff and the supportive learning environment we've cultivated.”
These commendations mark a significant achievement for ASI and reinforce its aim as a rising leader in engineering education, offering students cutting-edge skills and real-world experience to prepare them for successful careers in industry.
