On a momentous day at RAF Cranwell's Main Auditorium, Whittle Hall, the prestigious graduation ceremony for the Air & Space Institute (ASI) and the Peterborough and Stamford Air & Defence Colleges (ADC) took place in June 2024. This ceremony honoured the exceptional achievements of students in the Civil Aviation and Military & Defence fields, with their friends and families present to share in their success. The event highlighted the importance of the institutions and their partners, who were instrumental in providing world-class education and unwavering support to the graduates.

Matthew Vaughan, Deputy Principal of the Lincoln College Group, said: “Graduating from the Air, Space, and Defence programmes signifies the culmination of relentless hard work and dedication. Well done to you all.

“It marks a significant transition from the academic environment to the professional world, where graduates will apply their knowledge and skills in real-world scenarios. This milestone celebrates not just the end of their employer-led educational journey but the beginning of impactful careers in their chosen fields.”

Ross Tarnowski, Assistant Principal at the Lincoln College Group, said: “Congratulations to the class of 2024. It is a delight to watch these future aviation professionals walk across the stage, signifying the end of their ASI journey.

“A heartfelt expression of gratitude is also extended to our ASI partners, whose vital role in delivering top-tier education was crucial to the success of these students. Their support in nurturing the talents of these young professionals has been invaluable, ensuring that they are ready to take on the challenges of their careers with confidence and capability.”

Councillor Matthew Spoors, Portfolio Holder for Sustainable Economic Development at Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “This is a great day not only for the amazing students but for the town as a whole. These graduates have been given this opportunity thanks to the world-class training centre, led by a fantastic local College, right in the heart of our community and it’s fantastic to see how the ASI has enabled local young people to pursue successful and inspiring careers.

“We’re immensely proud of everyone involved with the ASI which is providing excellent career pathways, qualifications and employment prospects and will be home to more than 300 students.”

Each institution took the opportunity during the ceremony to acknowledge students who excelled in their respective categories, the following are the full list of ASI Newark winners:

These attributes ensure that they are well-prepared to meet the demands of their careers and contribute meaningfully to their sectors.
