This is what the International Air and Space Training Institute in Newark could look like.

The latest drawings from Stem Architects Ltd showing the proposed plans for IASTI Newark have been revealed.

The state-of-the-art premises is set to be built on the site of Newark Livestock Market and lorry park, with a planned opening date of 2023. This has been made possible by a multi-million pound investment from the Government’s Towns Fund initiative.

The planning application for IASTI Newark is due to be submitted to the district council next month.

Meanwhile, last week the Institute's first learners were welcomed at the interim site within the Newark College campus.

Nathan Banyard is pleased to be studying on the pilot pathway at IASTI Newark. He said: “This is a brand-new and exciting experience for me. It’s one of the best opportunities to come from a college.

“The first week has been really good. I’ve met a lot of new people who I feel I’ll know for the rest of my life. I’ve also got to meet three great teachers and I think I’m going to enjoy the next few years here.”
